The Leadership Workshop for Professional Women:
Skills for Success
— Sponsored by The National Conference of Women's Bar Associations
February 8 & 9, 2013 in Dallas, Texas
This workshop is for women lawyers, as well as other professional women and is intended to build leadership skills that increase economic strength and collaboration among women across professional boundaries which can improve women's lives in all areas. The conference will offer tools for enhancing productivity and job satisfaction, as well as learning innovative techniques for effective communication; strategies for better marketing; and methods for advancing to higher positions of leadership.
Unlike most other conferences, this one is structured so that each speaker will present to and/or work with the whole audience. I'm extremely impressed with the kind of power, creativity, and integrity the other four speakers possess ~ and excited to learn from them. I hope you'll consider attending this exceptional conference on women's leadership and share the information in your own community of colleagues and friends. The cost is also very reasonable. See registration information at the bottom of the event notice. Below is information about the other speakers:
Senator Wendy Davis has been called "courageous," "articulate and gutsy" and "inspiring." She has been taking on tough fights her entire life. She began working after school at 14 to help support her single mother and three siblings. By 19, she was a single mother herself. Wendy learned of a paralegal program and after her start at a community college, ultimately not only became the first person in her family to earn a bachelor's degree, but graduated first in her class and was accepted to Harvard Law School. Using creative, powerful methods, as a Texas State Senator, she has played a strong role in passing laws supporting issues such as children's education, the rights of rape victims, women's health, and Veterans resources.

Brigadier General Wilma L. Vaught, USAF served in the U.S. Air Force for over 28 years, retiring in 1985 as one of the most highly decorated women in U.S. history. A Vietnam veteran, she was one of the few military women in that war who were not nurses. When she was promoted to brigadier general in 1980, she was one of a handful of women in the world who had ever achieved that distinction. While her military accomplishments are extraordinary, throughout her career, General Vaught has also forged new paths and pioneered opportunities for the servicewomen who would follow. She has much to offer women on how to function with power in fields that are often dominated by men.
