PNDC-The Communication Model for the Information Era
About the core PNDC workshop: In the basic workshop you will learn
about two "models" for communication. Each of these communication
models is like a computer program in that it has a limited number of choices
and outcomes built into it.
The first model has been used for centuries and is accepted as a given,
like the air we breath. Unfortunately, it locks people into a way of talking
to each other that cause many problems. The second model is a new paradigm
for communication which is a much more efficient and powerful way of communicating.
- The war model: In PNDC workshops we demonstrate in detail how
most traditional communication systems are literally built on the rules
of war. Using the choices structured into this model, the outcomes we
create escalate misunderstanding and conflict in the workplace.
- The Powerful Non-Defensive Communication Model: PNDC training
is based on the principle that, in a wide range of professional settings,
non-defensive communication techniques are far more powerful than defensive
maneuvers. Using the choices structured into this model, the outcomes
we get enhance creative problem solving.
Training Goals: Although each workshop is tailored to specific
client needs and workshop topics, participants will always learn how to:
- Recognize key habits of communication that are intertwined
with both passive and aggressive defensive maneuvers
- Develop skill sets in using 8 formats for non-defensive communication
which can defuse power struggles and enable each person to listen and
speak with respect, honesty, clarity and confidence
Participants will learn skills which can be applied immediately- individually,
in work teams, and in the larger organization to maximize success in achieving
high performance goals while decreasing stress.
